A call for calls: Dem consultant tells Twitter he's undecided and the calls come pouring in

Dusty Trice has worked on political campaigns for years and he's got love of new media.
So when Trice, who is sitting out working on this year's governor's race so far, couldn't make up his mind about which gubernatorial candidate to support in Tuesday's caucuses, he turned to Twitter. Monday night, he tweeted:
Trying to decide if I'm going to my DFL caucus tomorrow. Haven't received any lit or calls from the campaigns, so I might just skip it.
Then Trice, who has more than 12,000 followers on Twitter, asked for help:
Who wants my support in the DFL caucus? I'm still undecided, but will accept calls until 9 p.m. 612-xxx-xxxx.
And for the next two hours he answered the phone. He quickly got calls from staffers from DFLers Margaret Anderson Kelliher and Tom Bakk's campaigns. DFLers Paul Thissen and R.T. Rybak called him personally. A staffer for John Marty, another Democrat running for governor, called in, too. Supporters of Democrat Tom Rukavina also asked for his backing.
"I didn't expect this kind of wave of calls and I'm impressed," he said. As a self-proclaimed social media nut he was impressed that the campaigns were so attuned to Twitter -- and that two of the candidates took the time to call him themselves.
With a few minutes to spare until his 9 p.m. call-cut-off time, he said he had decided to definitely go to his caucus -- "They've gotten me that far" -- but remained pretty undecided.
And if he decides? He'll tell Twitter about it.
