What's up, everyone?

First: Drive safely. It's bad out there in Minnesnowta.

But Morgan State v. Minnesota must be played ... assuming the Bears get through Twin Cities traffic. Seriously.

Tubby Smith's used a variety of lineups this season. Justin Cobbs and Devron Bostick are the only two players who haven't started a game this year.

Against Brown, Smith went with a three-guard lineup that included Ralph Sampson III, Damian Johnson, Lawrence Westbrook, Blake Hoffarber and Al Nolen.

Hoffarber had the first double-double of his career. And six players scored in double figures.

I think Brown had a lot to do with that. But with just four nonconference games to go, I wonder how many more combinations Tubby Smith will utilize before the team's Big Ten opener against Penn State Dec. 29.

I'd like to see last game's starting rotation against Morgan State, a team that's far more athletic than Brown. If it works again, Smith might stick with it.

I think the Gophers will better off with Paul Carter's length in the starting rotation once Big Ten play begins, but I know he potentially adds a lot to the bench. It's hard to start Devoe Joseph because he's the back-up point guard and Smith's not comfortable enough with Cobbs to give him that role yet. And Rodney Williams Jr. faces a lot less pressure coming off the bench.

Prediction: Minnesota 85, Morgan State 71
