Gov. Tim Pawlenty will add a stop in Lansing, Mich., to what’s shaping up to be a busy week next week.
Pawlenty said at a news conference Tuesday that he’ll attend a prayer breakfast for elected officials from area states. The governor said he was tentatively scheduled to go last year, but had to cancel.
Pawlenty didn’t say what day he’ll be in Michigan, but Wednesday the state will release what he expects to be a bleak revenue forecast and Thursday he’ll be in Chicago to raise money for his Freedom First PAC.
Pawlenty said the prayer breakfast and Chicago stop are part of a 24 hour trip that will include “a couple fundraisers.”
So facing such economic turmoil, will the governor limit travel during the legislative session?
“Obviously, we’ve got to make sure that the work gets done here,” he said. “I am very mindful of that. And the work is getting done. There’s nothing that is left undone in terms of our weeks or months that go by.”
