Pawlenty criticizes Recovery.gov errors

ABC News reported this morning that Recovery.gov, the Obama administration's Web site to track stimulus spending, was calculating jobs created in non-existent congressional districts.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty picked up on the news this afternoon, tweeting "Fed spending out of control- it appears to go places that don't exist. MN has 8 cong districts; Recovery.gov says we have a 57th."

He's right. In fact, not only does the site list a 57th district, but there's also a "42nd," a "27th" and even a "00," which received about $400,000.

Recovery Board officials told ABC that the district mixup was the result of stimulus recipients submitting forms with faulty data because they "don't know what congressional district they live in."
