A spokesman for Gov. Tim Pawlenty's political action committee said this afternoon that the governor will be traveling to New Hampshire in December to fundraise for some local Republican politicians.

Fresh from a speech in Iowa, Pawlenty's trip to New Hampshire will mark another visit to an early primary state this fall/winter. Some notoriety in these areas could prove helpful if the Republican governor decides to run for president in 2012.

Alex Conant, spokesman for Pawlenty's Freedom First PAC, said the fundraiser for the Republican Senate Majority Committee PAC is in Concord, NH on December 16.

A report in the Union Leader says Pawlenty will be the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for the local PAC, which aids Republican candidates for New Hampshire state Senate, according to their registration documents.

UPDATE: Political strategist Mike Dennehy, who once served as John McCain's national political director, confirms that he invited Pawlenty to the event in New Hampshire after meeting him several times during the 2008 campaign. Dennehy, who is advising the RSMC PAC, said the fundraiser will be $50 per plate.

"He's a new fresh face on the national scene," Dennehy said in a phone interview. "He's someone that's been very outspoken, especially of late. And in particular I think New Hampshire Republicans are interested in hearing from someone on the national stage who's been a successful governor and who's inserting themselves into the national debate"
