YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES
Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

From Fasolamatt:
A brief persusal of team stats at NBA.com reveals that the Timberwolves are shooting a measly 71% from the free throw line. Fear not, Wolves fans, for two engineers at North Carolina State University have figured out the physics that will help your typical NBA bricklayer improve, as seen here.
"The engineers say that the ball should be launched at 52 degrees to the horizontal. If you don’t have a protractor in your jersey, that means that the shot should, at the highest point in its arc to the basket, be less than 2 inches below the top of the backboard."
Is that a protractor in your jersey, or are you glad to see me? Commenters are welcome to make a better joke than that, but, as always, within the bounds of good taste defined by the Star Tribune comment police.
