With only hours to go before the U.S. House takes up health care legislation, Democrat Rep. Jim Oberstar is still not committed to voting yes.
The Transportation Committee chairman is waiting to see the outcome of an amendment which would prevent public funding of abortions - a possibility under the current bill.
"I’m waiting to see what the shape of the issue is," Oberstar said after walking off the House floor moments ago. Though he is a likely 'yes' vote, he said if the amendment does not pass that he is prepared to vote no on the bill.
The House is slated to vote on the amendment in the coming hours.
