Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that it would make time travel possible. So far, however, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes your suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and random pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

Celtics' Glen "Big Baby" Davis perhaps lacks focus
Far be it from us to criticize a man with ambition, but Glen "Big Baby" Davis -- yes, the man who was unable to help his teammates escape with a narrow victory over the Wolves last night because he broke his thumb in a fight -- would like to play in the NFL someday. And he's pretty sure he'd be awesome! Cart ... here's the horse. From ESPN.com (our bold):
"I will try it," said Davis, who's on the injured list for six weeks with a broken right thumb sustained in a fight. "When I become an All-Star in the NBA, when I become a great player in the NBA, then I'll try football. One of my dreams has always been to play football." Davis was a terrific two-way football player at University Laboratory High School in Baton Rouge, La., starring at defensive end, defensive tackle and tailback. But he chose to hang up his cleats and accept a basketball scholarship to LSU, where he became an All-American. "I definitely could have made it to the NFL," Davis said.
That's right, Glen. It's just a short leap from 7 ppg, 4 rpg and 21 mpg. You'll be an all-star in no time. And the NFL will be a snap. Glad to see that broken thumb was such a humbling experience. No word on whether Davis, who is the approximate size of CC Sabathia, would like to pitch in the World Series at some point, too.
