Pawlenty strikes out again in 2012 poll

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty may be making a splash on the airwaves and in Minnesota funding circles but poll numbers show his support among Republicans and all Americans at barely a trickle.
In a new Gallup poll, 48 percent of Republicans say they wouldn't seriously consider voting for him in a 2012 presidential contest. Only 32 of them say they could consider casting a ballot for the outgoing governor.
When Democrats and independents are thrown into the mix, Pawlenty's numbers get even worse. Sixty percent say they wouldn't consider voting for Pawlenty and only 18 percent say they would.
And is Pawlenty qualified to be president? Fifty-one percent said Pawlenty isn't qualified to be president and 25 percent said he could do the job. Among just Republicans, 33 percent said he is qualified to run the country.
