Roman Augustoviz is covering Gophers hockey this season for a third year. Coach Don Lucia's team finished seventh and fifth in the WCHA his first two years on the beat, but it’s not his fault. Occasionally, Roman will write about other Gopher sports such as volleyball, wrestling, cross country, track-and-field and baseball.
E-mail Roman to talk about Gopher sports.

Adam Wilcox met with the Gophers hockey staff this summer, said South St. Paul coach Jeff Lagoo in an e-mail, and again in early October when he received a scholarship offer.
He accepted it on Monday night.
"He is an active goalie very much like his cousin, Alex Stalock," Lagoo wrote. "Adam grew up idolizing Alex and modeled his game after him.
"He is a very athletic goalie that ike likes to play the puck and comes out and challenges shooters. He will be fun to watch on the big sheet of ice at the U."
Last season as a sophomore, Wilcox had a 16-6-3 record for the Packers. He had a 2.38 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.
If he joins the Gophers in two seasons, for 2011-2012, Alex Kangas will be gone and Kent Patterson will be a senior so he could either challenge Patterson for the starting job or back him up.
