Chen May Yee swapped life as a foreign correspondent in Asia for domesticity in Minneapolis, where she lives with preschooler Maya, kindergartener Zoe and husband Chris, a stay-at-home dad. She writes about healthcare at the Star Tribune and hankers after warmer climates.
Kay Krhin makes daily attempts to balance doing more with less and less with more at work and home, more or less. She is married to multi-faceted modern man Peter and is a slightly seasoned mother to preschooler Ben and toddler Vivian.

You may or may not know that my other job at the paper is healthcare reporter. Hence I am on the mailing list of most of the hospitals, clinics and insurance companies in our fair state.
Usually, they're telling me about a new unit opening, or visiting restrictions due to H1N1. That sort of thing.
Well, this link I got this morning from Hennepin County Medical Center shows that our medical friends can be funny as well as serious. These are the results of HCMC's pumpkin carving competition, with entries from various departments from pediatrics to the transplant clinic.
My favorite is from the operating room (scroll to bottom). Though radiology's entry is pretty good too.
Happy Halloween!
