The question over whether or not Sufjan Stevens himself will be at the Oct. 29 screening of his movie "The BQE" and performance by Osso at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis has been answered: Yes he will.
The Southern has announced that Sufjan will "appear" at the event and "introduce the film." The release doesn't say anythying about him performing, though. Osso is the New York/Berlin-based string quartet that worked with Stevens on "Illinoise" and has also performed and recorded with My Brightest Diamond. It was behind the new reworking of Stevens' 2001 "Enjoy Your Rabbit" album, newly remade as "Run Rabbit Run."
"The BQE" is the movie about the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway that Stevens made/scored with funding by the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Anyway, it took me about five minutes to type this up, so I'm guessing that tickets have already been gobbled up (Steven's 400 Bar gig last month went that quick), but check here for sure.
