The Republican National Committee (RNC) will not let Vice President Joe Biden's Twin Cities' fundraiser today pass without comment. As Biden heads to the Edina home of fundraiser Robert Pohlad, the RNC has released a "research brief" on the likely impact of the Senate Democrats' health care plan on Minnesota's vaunted biotech industry. In particular, it bores in on the proposed $38 billion tax on medical device makers, which would hit Minnesota-based Medtronic, St. Jude and others. By some estimates, the industry employs some 60,0000 Minnesotans. As the RNC research shop notes, both Democratic senators from Minnesota oppose the tax.
