General Mills is taking a special interest in the World Cup, courtesy of its Yoki line of snacks.
Brazil, is of course, hosting the World Cup and Yoki, which General Mills bought two years ago, is one of Brazil’s leading snack brands.
So, to coincide with the World Cup, Yoki earlier this year introduced its “world flavors inspired” line up of potato chips, peanuts and popcorn. They are available in Brazilian supermarkets until July.
The six varieties include Brazilian cheese stick potato chips; Brazilian onion and parsley peanuts; Japanese soy sauce and wasabi microwave popcorn; and American bacon peanuts.
Golden Valley-based General Mills paid almost $1 billion for Yoki Alimentos, a deal that doubled its presence in Latin America.
