A series of free workshops around the state will begin June 10 for those with questions about the new B10 biodiesel blend that will be required soon in Minnesota. The sessions are designed to let consumers, fuel handlers and distributors ask questions and learn more about B10, and to understand storage strategies and labeling and signage requirements.

The American Lung Association of Minnesota is hosting the workshops, called "B Ready for B10," with the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council, and the MEG Corp.

All #2 diesel fuel sold in the state must contain 10 percent biodiesel for the period from July 1 to Sept. 30 this year. Starting in 2015, B10 will be required from April 1 to Sept. 30. The rest of the year, #2 diesel will contain 5 percent biodiesel, as it does now year-round.

The list of dates, times and locations for the workshops can be found here. They are free and some include lunch, but space is limited. Contact Ruby at 651-268-2146 or ruby.hocker@lung.org to register.
