Johnny Manziel met the media on Wednesday, a few days after his latest Vegas weekend became national news because, you know, it's really weird that rich young football players like to party.

Here's the money quote, per Cleveland.com:

"I don't live my life according to you guys or according to what other people think of me," he said Wednesday after organized team activities. "I'm going to live my life to the fullest and continue to be committed to this game, committed to what I need to be doing here and trying to earn my place in this locker room with these coaches, with this organization. If I want to go out and have some fun and it doesn't hinder what my main goals in life are then I don't really care what anybody has to say."

Amen, Johnny.

It reminds us of one of our favorite quotes of all time, attributed to former Washington running back Clinton Portis, who was talking to reporters about off-field good times. "If y'all see me in the news, and I make the news for something that I ain't got no business making it for, don't bash me. Say it was a young guy living."

Portis ran for nearly 10,000 yards in his career. Manziel will be a very good NFL quarterback.

Clinton, Johnny, and all the others. Just young guys playing football -- and living.
