There's going to be a lot of pink on the field today as MLB shows its support for breast cancer awareness.

Sunglasses, wristbands, necklaces, shoes, bats and other items are available to players and coaches in pink, and the Twins were loading up before the game. Players are excited to be part of the movement., and it was entertaining to see them compare their pinked-out gear to each other.

With a win today against Tigers rookie Robbie Ray, the Twins will take two of three games against Detroit and finish the road trip with a 3-4 record. Not what a team wants, but it would make for a nice recovery after losing three of four to Cleveland.

It also will end a crazy week during which 10 players hit the transaction wire - that includes Brooks Raley and Kenny Wilson being designated or assignment. But manager Ron Gardenhire now has the roster he wants. Namely, more versatility and speed off the bench. The next step is waiting for Oswaldo Arcia and Josh Willingham to recover from their wrist injuries.

Speaking of versatility, Danny Santana was scheduled to take some fly balls in center field today. Gardy wants to get a look at him out there because of his speed. Gardy also needs another option when he wants sit Aaron Hicks down, for whatever reason.

Eduardo Escobar is batting .382 over his last 10 games.

The home run Kyle Gibson gave up to Miguel Cabrera the first off him in 37.2 innings this season.

Twins pitching has allowed double digit hits in 20 of their 35 games this season.

Class A Cedar Rapids shortstop Engelb Vielma is the Twins minor league player of the week after batting .423 last week.'

Samuel Deduno's pitch limit should be around 90 today.

Miguel Sano turns 21 years old today.
