Black ice didn't contribute to a rash of crashes this morning, but there were a handful of rear-end fender benders on entrance and exit ramps. We saw a few spinouts, too.

Among them, westbound Hwy. 36 at Dale Street, which led to a gawker slow down for westbound drivers and delays from about 7:50 a.m. until 8:40 a.m.

Mechanical issues on the Blue Line led to delays of 10 to 15 minutes for light rail riders. A train broke down at the Hennepin/Warehouse station just after 7. Metro Tranist moved it out of the way and deployed additional trains to help fill in the gaps. Delays persisted through the rush hour.

The current hotspots are on westbound 694 where an injury crash is blocking the left lane at Dale Street. The log jam begins at 35E. Eastbound has an accident at Lexington Avenue taking out the right shoulder.

Look for a crash on the bottom of the ramp from New Brighton Blvd. to southbound 35W. That was one of several wrecks on entrance ramps this morning.
