Carlos Morris returned Sunday night from an official at Minnesota, his second.

"Squirrel," a 6-4 JUCO wing from Chipola College, plans to visit UAB within the coming weeks, and then could make a decision. Morris has already visited Seton Hall – which looks to be less likely with the Pirates getting commitments from a pair of recruits at his position – and has discussed visiting Arkansas, but that seems further from being set.

"I pretty much just hung out with the guys and went to practice to see how they did things and talked to coach Pitino about how they would use me in the system, what he thinks I would be like in the system," Morris said about his visit, hosted by Andre Hollins. "I liked it – it was a good fit for me."

Morris had said before that he wasn't opposed to making a quick decision – and that he was hoping to get a certain "feeling" from a program. At Minnesota, Morris got a glimpse of what life would be like if he chose to trade in his squirrel's tail for a Gopher's tail (which, let's face it – looks more like a beaver's).

"I just wanted to see if it was like a family, and it was definitely like a family environment -- they show a lot of love," he said. "At the football stadium, fans were chanting my name and stuff, so it made me feel good. That was big time. I didn't expect that, so it kind of surprised me, but that was great."

Morris is participating in jamborees this weekend and next and hopes to squeeze the UAB visit in between or immediately after.

"I told them I would make that visit happen, so I want to be a man of my word," Morris said. "I will probably make a decision after that."
