Brookfield Central High coach Mark Adams said it sounds as though 2014 Gophers target Riley LaChance's visit to Iowa over the weekend went well, and now the Wisconsin point guard could be soon making a decision.

LaChance has gone on four official visits, now and will be choosing from those schools: Vanderbilt, Creighton, Minnesota and Iowa. The first two schools have been involved the longest, but Adams has, in the past, noted LaChance's excitement at the more recent Big Ten involvement. The coach said right now they are looking to find a time to sit down with his parents and discuss the options.

Indiana – which is heavily recruiting decommit James Blackmon Jr. – has also been involved, but never offered. Reportedly, Tom Crean asked LaChance to consider waiting until the spring signing period to decide, but Adams said the guard is not interested in doing that.

"I'm just trying to tell him not to be pressured or feel like he has to do something," Adams said. "If he puts a deadline on himself and all the sudden he gets near the deadline and he's still not feeling comfortable, that's not to say that he can't go on anymore. His timeline, really, is the start of the season. He's got six more weeks if he needed that time, he's got plenty of time."

Still, it seems LaChance wants to voice his preference within the next few days.

On his trip to Iowa, LaChance had the opportunity to watch a couple of practices and get to know the coaches and the players. The 6-2 floor general had visited Hawkeyes campus unofficially his freshman year, and had known of Iowa's plans to upgrade facilities – both to the arena and with a new practice facility. Upon returning over the weekend, LaChance was able to see the fruits of that effort.

"Obviously now that's all done," Adams said. "That, he knew was going to be pretty impressive. He was pleasantly surprised to see the upgrades there [at the arena] … He liked what he saw, he thought the other players were good guys, too, he really liked coach [Fran] McCaffery."

LaChance visited Minnesota the previous weekend, when Seattle power forward Josh Martin was also in town.
