Titans running back Chris Johnson is not happy that his team just signed running back Shonn Greene. The logic is probably that Johnson -- while dominant in rushing for more than 2,000 yards in 2009 -- has been good but not great since then ... and that having two running backs is a good idea in this rough-and-tumble NFL.

Johnson has a point, though. Why would the Titans pay Greene $10 million over three years, especially when they are basically getting the same guy as Johnson only slightly less so. Over the past two years, Johnson is averaging 1,145 yards, five TDs and 4.3 yards per carry. Greene is averaging 1,058 yards, seven TDs and 4.0 yards per carry. As noted by the ESPN.com link above, both are among the worst in the NFL at yards per carry.

So unless the Titans have a dominant offensive line that paves holes for 35-40 carries per game for two backs that don't do very well after contact, Tennessee is really not doing itself any favors.
