Susan Grant teaches economics and personal finance in the Stewartville school district and last week she was recognized for her efforts by 3M and Thrivent Financial at a ceremony held by the Minnesota Council on Economic Education.

Grant asked high schoolers to write stories that are embedded with economic principles, and then teach the stories to fourth and fifth graders. The results were pretty interesting, as you can see in this video:

The council's goal is to give teachers the tools to better teach economics and personal finance to students. Teachers have been getting training from the council and its Centers for Economic Education for 50 years.
