Not that there was any suspense, but Minnesota's delegation to the Democratic National Convention cast its 99 votes early Thursday for Barack Obama as the party's nominee for president. The delegation was represented by U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who championed the state's 10,000 lakes, it's Olympic athletes, the Minnesota Lynx women's basketball team, and former Vice President Walter Mondale. Also on hand were U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, a vice chair of the Democratic National Committee. Minnesota took its turn shortly before Ohio, which put Obama over the top.
