Commenter RandBallsStu (BRANDING!) tracks down a former Minnesota sports figure every week so you don't have to. This works out pretty well. Stu? -------

The Hunt Down

Name: Jermaine Wiggins Claim to Fame, Minnesota: a tight end for your Minnesota Vikings from 2004-2006. Best statistical season was 2004 (71 receptions, 705 yards, 4 TDs), but may be best known locally for his "Monday night, Tuesday night…" quote that KFAN has used as a running bit for years. Claim to Fame, Everywhere Else: the Boston native and University of Georgia product caught the Tom Brady pass that set up Adam Vinatieri's Super Bowl XXXVI-winning kick. He would later lose a Super Bowl to the Patriots as a member of the Carolina Panthers. His final professional football stop was with the UFL's Florida Tuskers, along with fellow former Vikings Brooks Bollinger and Mike Doss. He tried his hand at MMA, too. Where He Is Now: as visitors to www.jermainewiggins.com will see, the loquacious Wiggins has transitioned into sports radio, television and online work in the Boston area. It may just be me, but it looks like he copy-and-pasted his resume into the "about" section of his website. Which, to be fair, was greatly helpful in completing this section. Is He on Twitter: yes. Word of caution: he hash tags almost everything with #WIGGSOUT!!! (exclamation points his, not mine). This includes tweets about national tragedies. Has He Been in a Twitter Feud with Patrick Reusse: no Glorious Randomness: if your wardrobe is lacking in Jermaine Wiggins-related items, you'd be advised to click on the Wiggy Wear section of his website.
