Ripe For Storms. NWS Doppler at 2:22 pm shows a few scattered cells near Alexandria - conditions ripe for a squall line to develop in the next few hours and then push into the metro between 6 and 10 pm this evening. Stay alert, and stay tuned for possible watches and warnings.

Severe Storm Watch Potential. SPC has outlined much of central and western Minnesota (purple scalloped area) for a possible watch from mid afternoon into the late evening hours.

"Hot Enough." The sun should stay out through late afternoon, enough blue sky (and gusty south winds) for some mid-90s close to home. The best chance of T-storms: 5 pm to 10 pm tonight. 2:30 pm visible loop courtesy of WeatherTap.
