We have no idea why we compiled this the other night. It took far too long and it had no real point. But we would like to point out, the Twins are 2-0 since we did. And we were waiting for an upbeat moment to post it. So, please accept us as we are. Also, feel free to fetch out a Jeff Gray/Vulture single as a B-side/bonus track. Three pitches. Two wins. Tony Fiore could only be so lucky.

These are nine songs that correspond to members of the Twins' lineup. We started from a reference point of "O Valencia." When we found such a natural match for Denard Span, the rest became an obsession. For matters of convenience -- such as the fact that Doumit is not a naturally occurring lyric -- we have crafted the starting nine a little differently than Gardy might run them out there. But it is still a plausible lineup:

Denard Span, CF; Jamey Carroll, SS; Joe Mauer, C; Justin Morneau, DH; Josh Willingham, LF; Danny Valencia, 3B; Luke Hughes, 2B; Chris Parmelee, 1B; Ben Revere, RF.

Still, here we go (might be a language/crudeness warning in a couple of these, particularly as it pertains to wiffle ball bats at the bottom of the order, so consider yourself warned):
