Khari Blasingame, a safety from New Market, Alabama, gave the Gophers a verbal commitment on Friday night, becoming the team's 11th commitment in the 2014 class.

Blasingame also had an offer from Northwestern, as well as Middle Tennessee State. rates Blasingame as a three-star recruit. He is 6-1, 203 pounds, runs the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds, has a GPA of 4.13 and scored a 28 on his ACT.

Blasingame tweeted the news (@KB_bucks1): "Proud to be a Minnesota Golden Gopher!"

The Gophers can't comment on specific recruits, but assistant coach Jay Sawvel tweeted (@JaySawvel): "I am a very happy DB coach at the University of Minnesota right now!!!!"
