Browning has a master's degree in International Journalism from the University of Southern California with an emphasis on Latin American studies, a master's in Journalism from the University of Oregon with an emphasis on legal affairs, and a bachelor's in Religious Studies from California State University-Chico, with an emphasis on Buddhism. His outside interests include jujutsu and Aikido, ballroom dancing and photography.
Residential real estate
Buchta has taken breaks from those beats to edit the Star Tribune's Real Estate sections and Travel, and to ghost write a book about getaway homes. He also has an intense interest in architecture, agriculture and the environment. He lives part-time on a tree farm and has a particular expertise in building science and food.

Campbell has been a digital and print journalist for 25 years. She spent 20 years at the St. Paul Pioneer Press as a features and projects editor, ultimately moving to the Metro team, where she led the paper's coverage of courts, crime, communities and politics. Outside of newspapers, she was the editorial director for PBS/Next Avenue, a national digital project. She started her career as a magazine writer, and holds an M.F.A. in nonfiction writing. For 15 years, she lived on 13 acres in Scandia, Minnesota, where she raised chickens -- and three children. She recently returned to city living.
Carlson has covered health care beats full time since 2008, including medical technology, not-for-profit providers and health care legal affairs. His stories tend to blend health care business affairs and patient-focused information.

A native of Richfield, Carr grew up reading the Star Tribune. Somewhere in his mom's basement is an old photo of Chris, sitting on 1970s shag carpet in some groovy brown corduroys, holding a Star Tribune that was bigger than he was. After graduating from Wisconsin-Eau Claire, He worked in Washington D.C., Milwaukee and Charlotte before jumping at an opportunity to work for the hometown newspaper. He will always only own male dogs, so he at least has a fighting chance at home against the three ladies (two little ones, one grown-up) of his life.
Chanen has spent his entire career at the Star Tribune A Minneapolis resident, he owns a pug and a rescue dog that looks like a gremlin.
