David Braunger joined StarTribune.com in 1997 after a brief stint as an intern in the newsgraphics department. He has a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he was the graphics editor for the school newspaper, the Spectator.

Braunger has won two Regional Emmys for his work on both A People Torn - Liberians in Minnesota project and the 13 Seconds in August - the 35W bridge collapse project. He has won multiple EPpy awards and is also featured in Mindy McAdams book Flash Journalism: How to create multimedia news packages.
