Basketball fans can catch Wolves guard J.J. Barea and his Puerto Rico team play in tonight's FIBA America's championship against Mexico at 7 p.m. on NBA TV.

Barea had 16 points, eight assists and five rebounds in Tuesday's 79-67 semifinal victory over the Domincan Republic.Puerto Rico clinched a spot in the 2014 basketball World Cup with that victory.

Barea has had a strong Americas tournament, averaging 13 points and 3.3 assists.

Two other Wolves players - Ricky Rubio (Spain) and Alexey Shved (Russia) - are competing in the EuroBasketball Tournament. Shved's Russian team has been eliminated after a 1-4 showing, although Shved averaged 16.4 points and 4.8 assists.

Spain advanced to the second round with a 4-1 record, as Rubio averaged 10.8 points and 3.8 assists. Spain will take on Greece Thursday at 10:45 a.m. (Twin Cities time). All games of the tournament are televised online at, and the Sept. 24 championship game will be on ESPN2.
