Retired University of Minnesota professor of pediatrics and author Robert Fisch also creates paintings and other artwork.

He’s also a Holocaust survivor and will “share a narrative of his experiences through eloquent paintings, moving prose and music offered by the [St. Paul] Cathedral chamber orchestra” at a special program at the cathedral on Oct. 21.

“The Fisch presentation is important to bring to the Cathedral from the standpoint that for centuries, cathedrals have been a place where the arts and humanities meet,” said Robert Ridgell, director of sacred music for the Cathedral of Saint Paul, a released statement.

“In the case of Dr. Fisch’s art and his presentation, ‘A Lesson of Love – Remain Humane Even in Inhumane Circumstances,’ it allows our community to witness the love of God and neighbor.”

The 2 p.m. event will be held in Hayden Hall, on the lower level of the Cathedral. For more information, check out
