ABOUT THESE STORIES
ThreeSixty Journalism is a teen journalism program of the University of St Thomas in St. Paul. The nonprofit program is committed to serving low-income and minority teens in the Twin Cities but is open to all interested students. In addition to the University of St Thomas, supporters include foundations, corporations, individual donors and media companies, including the Star Tribune.
These articles and photos were produced by eight of the 15 high school students who participated in ThreeSixty Journalism's residential camp on the environment from June 19 to July 1. The other articles are published today in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. ThreeSixty Journalism uses summer camps, after-school programs and other programs to strengthen the civic literacy, writing skills and college-readiness of Minnesota teens. There are still openings for a one-week camp in August on sports reporting. Apply online at www.threesixtyjournalism.org/sportscamp.
ThreeSixty Journalism produces a quarterly magazine of work for and by teens that is distributed free to schools, libraries and youth organizations throughout Minnesota. These stories, along with other fine work by Minnesota teens, can be found at www.threesixtyjournalism.org. Contact Marketing Coordinator Andrea Salazar at 651-962-5225 or firstname.lastname@example.org for information about ThreeSixty Journalism, including programs, subscriptions and sponsorship opportunities.
