A convenience store clerk thwarted a pair of robbers late Thursday night, shooting one of the men who were trying to hold up the store.

The robbery attempt occurred at the Lakeshore Market in Greenwood on State Hwy. 7 about 10:45 p.m.

According to the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department, two masked men entered the store and a clerk opened fire, hitting one of the men.

Police searched the area near the store and found "the wounded suspect with a firearm hunkered down" near the store, according to police.

He was arrested and taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. He hasn't yet been charged, police said.

The other suspect remains at large, police said.
