Commuters dealt with rain and congestion, which made the drive to work a dash pounding affair as major routes were plugged up for most of the rush.

At present things are starting to loosen a bit, but delays continue in the west metro on southbound Hwy. 169 and eastbound 94 from Rogers to Maple Grove.

I-494 in both directions is still running below the posted speeds through Bloomington and westbound 94 drivers are hitting the brakes from White Bear Avenue to downtown St. Paul.

Look out for a wreck on northbound 35E at Cedar Avenue. That one is on the left shoulder.

Earlier drive times soared over 30 minutes for commuters heading into the downtowns from both the northern and southern suburbs. I-35W was problematic due to heavy traffic volumes and a crash in the Crosstown Commons at Lyndale Avenue.

Road work on westbound 94 at Hwy. 101 led to massive backups for those leaving the city. The tieups started near Maple Grove Pkwy. and continued over to Hwy. 241 in St. Michael.

Transit seemed to run without too many issues. No delays were reported on Northstar or light rail trains.
