A look at how the Big Ten bowl picture might sort out:
OHIO STATE (11-1, 7-1)
Projected bowl: Rose Bowl, Pasadena, Calif.
Possible bowl: BCS championship game. For that to happen, three of these four -- BCS leader LSU, No. 3 Kansas, No. 5 Missouri and No. 6 West Virginia -- likely would have to lose. You never know.
ILLINOIS (9-3, 6-2)
Projected bowl: Capital One Bowl, Orlando.
Possible bowl: Outback Bowl if Capital One opts for Michigan.
WISCONSIN (9-3, 5-3)
Projected bowl: Outback Bowl, Tampa, Fla.
Possible bowl: Alamo
PENN STATE (8-4, 4-4)
Projected bowl: Alamo Bowl, San Antonio
Possible bowl: Champs Sports
MICHIGAN (8-4, 6-2)
Projected bowl: Champs Sports, Orlando
Possible bowl: Alamo
INDIANA (7-5, 3-5)
Projected bowl: Insight Bowl, Tempe, Ariz.
Possible bowl: Motor City Bowl, even though Hoosiers beat Purdue.
MICHIGAN STATE (7-5, 3-5)
Projected bowl: Motor City Bowl, Detroit
Possible bowl: Insight
PURDUE (7-5, 3-5)
Projected bowl: Las Vegas (as Pac-10 replacement)
Possible bowl: Armed Forces
IOWA (6-6, 4-4)
Projected bowl: Armed Forces, Fort Worth (as Pac-10 replacement)
Possible bowl: Las Vegas
NORTHWESTERN (6-6, 3-5)
Projected bowl: Though eligible, might not be selected.
