• TEXAS 4, KANSAS CITY 3: Michael Young hit a two-run double and Ian Kinsler homered as the Rangers held on to beat the Royals in Arlington, Texas.

• CINCINNATI 11, CHICAGO 9: Pinch hitter Josh Hamilton's two-run, tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning lifted the Reds over the Cubs in Chicago.

• COLORADO 3, SAN DIEGO 0: Rookie Ubaldo Jimenez threw six shutout innings as the Rockies beat the host Padres.
