Vince Vaughn crashed his home state for the Labor Day weekend because he wanted to visit the State Fair, among other spots.
The accessible Minneapolis-born actor also hit Chambers, the Local, Chino Latino, Nye's and Cue at the Guthrie. He even watched Bowling Green's victory over the Gophers at the Dome, where Vaughn's famous visage was splashed across the big screen.
The staff at Chambers reported that a limo dropped off Vaughn around 1:30 a.m. Saturday . Vaughn, in a plaid shirt and jeans, went to the Red, White and [Blyleven] Bar, aka the rooftop bar, where he talked to everybody who approached.
When strangers asked what he was doing here, Vaughn reportedly replied: I was born here! Didn't have anything better to do for the holiday weekend and we came to the State Fair.
Vaughn told one source he went to the fair twice. When asked his favorite State Fair food, Vaughn said: I couldn't get enough caramel apples.
Vaughn also talked to the Chambers staffers about being at Cue and how beautiful he thought it was.
A specious Vaughn-Owen Wilson sighting on Nicollet Mall was called into the Strib.
On Saturday afternoon the woman behind janetcharltonshollywood.com told me it was highly unlikely that Wilson was chillin' in Minneapolis with Vaughn. Janet Charlton was right because Saturday at 7:05 p.m. People mag posted a story about Wilson's departure from the L.A. hospital where he had been since reportedly trying to commit suicide. He's home in L.A. being closely monitored by family, according to People.
According to my source, Vaughn rolled into Chambers with a guy named Peter, not Owen.
If Wilson comes to Minnesota, he should go directly to Hazelden, where media have reports claim he has had a previous stay.
The last thing Wilson needs these day is bar hopping with his "Wedding Crashers" co-star.
