Hines, others are off airwaves

Last update: November 5, 2007 - 6:43 PM

Broadcast veteran John Hines' switch to conservative-talk radio didn't last long. Hines was dropped Monday by KTLK, 100.3 FM, after doing the morning show there for less than nine months. Hines has previously logged 16 years at KEEY, 102.1 FM, a top-rated country-music station.

Clear Channel, which owns seven radio stations in the Twin Cities market, also terminated voiceover talent Dan Culhane, who previously served as Tom Barnard's on-air partner, and Cities 97's Jason Nagel.

Executives here and at headquarters in San Antonio declined to comment.
