A third Democratic candidate has thrown in to run for election in the open Second Congressional District seat. Roger Kittelson filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission Nov. 4 and has been apparently out on the campaign trail, making speeches and introducing himself to voters.
He is the third Democratic candidate running for the seat to be vacated next year by Republican Rep. John Kline. Dr. Mary Lawrence, an ophthalmologist, and Angie Craig, a vice president at a medical device company, are also running.
Four Republicans have also announced: former state Sen. John Howe, former radio host Jason Lewis, former state Rep. Pam Myhra, and David Gerson, a libertarian who challenged Kline in 2012 and 2014.
