Pawlenty speaks to reservists heading to Iraq today

Last update: September 8, 2008 - 7:24 AM

Gov. Tim Pawlenty's first Monday since the state hosted the Republican National Convention last week includes doing what governors do -- wishing well for military reserve members heading overseas.

Pawlenty is scheduled to speak this morning in a hangar at a deployment ceremony for the 934th Airlift Wing in Minneapolis. The 934th, the state's only Air Force Reserve Command flying unit, is headed to Iraq.

The wing, known as the ''Flying Vikings,'' is equipped with eight cargo aircraft that resupply and support other military units.
