Four people were injured, two seriously, when the fleeing suspect slammed into three cars.
Four people were injured, two seriously, late Wednesday when a suspect fleeing police officers slammed into three parked cars in St. Paul, police said.
Shortly before 10 p.m., St. Paul police officers in an unmarked car with flashing lights stopped the adult male suspect's vehicle as part of a narcotics investigation, according to police spokesman Peter Panos.
Panos gave this account: The suspect, who was alone in his car, fled east on Front Street for about a mile. Officers gave chase, but lost sight of the suspect's vehicle as it crossed Dale Street and went over a slight hill. When police cleared the hill, they found the suspect's car smashed into a parked car and two other vehicles.
The first car had no one in it, Panos said. The second held two people who suffered minor injuries. Two passengers in the third car were seriously injured.
The suspect, who was not hurt, was taken into custody, Panos said.
