Doctors deliver baby of woman injured in Rogers rollover crash

Last update: August 22, 2008 - 10:07 AM

A woman and her new born baby are in critical condition this morning at a Minneapolis hospital where they were taken after being pinned in a vehicle involved in a rollover accident late Thursday, the State Patrol said.

Doctors delivered Jamie Baer's baby around midnight when she arrived at Hennepin County Medical Center where she is being treated for a head injury, the Patrol said.

According to the patrol, Baer, 22, of Zimmerman, was riding in a 1999 Ford Mustang that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 94 east of Hwy. 101 near Rogers. As the driver moved from the left to the center lane, he lost control, struck an embankment and rolled over several time. Baer was pinned in the vehicle, the Patrol said.

The driver, Frank Tregoning, 21, of Otsego, was ejected from the vehicle. A second passenger, Kelsey Palmer, 22, also of Otsego, suffered lacerations and other minor injuries. Both were taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, the patrol said.

Baer and Palmer were wearing seat belts. Tregoning was not, the patrol said.

The Patrol detected alcohol in Baer, Tregoning and Palmer.
