Sore back keeps actress Loni Anderson from her 'Walk of Fame' event

A program to honor the Minnesota native will be rescheduled to a future date

A program set for tonight to honor Loni Anderson as the third member of Minnesota Proud's "Walk of Fame" has been scrubbed because the actress has back trouble, said Robert Roessel, project director.

The program called "An Evening with Loni Anderson" was scheduled to be at the St. Paul Hotel, but it will be held at a later date after her star and those of celebrities Marion Ross of "Happy Days" and Tippi Hedren who starred in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," are embedded in the Hennepin Avenue sidewalk between 8th and 9th streets, Roessel said.

A contractor is to arrive in Minneapolis this week to determine how to proceed with the "Walk of Fame," a project to honor Minnesotans who have earned national and international recognition in the entertainment and film/television industry, Roessel said.

Anderson, who may be best known for her role as receptionist Jennifer Marlowe on the sitcom "WKRP in Cincinnati," is a former Miss Roseville and was runner-up as Miss Minnesota in 1964. She attended Alexander Ramsey High School and has acted locally at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres and Old Log Theatre in addition to her Hollywood resume.
