Minneapolis police have arrested a 15-year-old male in connection with a fatal stabbing, the city's 23rd homicide of the year.
A man called police to a residence on the 3200 block of 31st Avenue S. in the Longfellow neighborhood just after 1 a.m. today and told them he had been stabbed, said Sgt. William Palmer.
Police had to force their way into the house to get to the victim, whose name has not been released.
The man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in downtown Minneapolis where he later died, Palmer said.
Palmer said police have no witnesses as yet, and as of noon no one had been arrested.
Homicide investigators are on the scene.
Palmer said it is unclear what led to the stabbing or why officers had to force their way into the home to get to the victim.
Anybody with information is asked to call the police department's homicide unit at 612-673-2941.
