Gates stuck on I-394 HOV lanes

Last update: July 15, 2008 - 9:06 AM

Traffic on eastbound Interstate Hwy. 394 is stacked up through Golden Valley this morning.

That's because gates to the carpool lane are stuck in the down position, meaning eastbound buses, motorcycles or vehicles with two or more occupants cannot access the lanes, except at Hwy. 100 where there are no gates, said Tom Heininger, a spokesman for the Regional Transportation Management Center in Roseville.

The gates are stuck and cannot be raised due to a power failure, Heininger said.

MnDOT crews are on the scene and will raise the gates as soon as power is restored.

Also in the west metro, traffic on southbound Interstate Hwy. 494 is backed up from 49th Avenue to Fish Lake Road due to an accident. Traffic is reduced to one lane past the scene.
