New Ulm entered the state tournament off a Section 3A run in which it outscored opponents 24-2. After 34 minutes of hockey here in the state quarterfinals, the Eagles have allowed seven. Yes, it's now 7-0 Breck up big over the Eagles.

Kayla Mork scored three of Breck's goals in the period, and also will be in the box for 1:41 to start the third as she took a tripping penalty late.

The Mustangs continue to dominate in every facet. In addition to the huge lead, Breck has a 38-5 shots on goal advantage

Because this is a championship-bracket game, there will be no running time when we start the third period.

Would not surprise me at all if New Ulm coach Angela Zeig decides to give Kacie Covington some time in the pipes. Shalyn Salonek has allowed seven goals, but give her credit. Despite the lopsided score, she has stopped a lot of great Breck chances.

This one is pretty much in the books, though. So why not give everyone a chance to experience the X?
