HUGO, Minn. - Hundreds of volunteers turned out in Hugo to help clean up debris from last Sunday's tornado.

Volunteers hauled hot tubs and wood siding and helped families search for keepsakes Saturday.

People came from as far away as Faribault, Minn., and Almena, Wis., to help clean up. Each volunteer carried a trash bag and a large reclosable bag to collect personal items they found.

Terry Clarkin and his family were gone when the tornado hit Memorial Day weekend. Clarkin believes "we wouldn't have survived if we were here."

The twister cut the Clarkins' two-story home down to one level. Clarkin says he won't fret over what he lost, and says the family will start over on the same foundation they built on six years ago.

Meanwhile, family members have identified the Hugo woman who died after cleaning up debris on Wednesday.

Sixty-two-year-old Marilyn MacLennan was found unconscious and not breathing Thursday afternoon. Etta Erickson, a cousin of MacLennan, says family members think dealing with the tornado's aftermath might have had an impact on MacLennan's health.
