One man was killed and another wounded, apparently after one or more gunmen fired shots into their car in north Minneapolis Saturday afternoon, police said.
Just after 1 p.m., Minneapolis police received a report of shots fired in the area of Queen Avenue N. and Olson Hwy. While they were checking the area, North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale called to report that two shooting victims had arrived there. One of the men was pronounced dead at the hospital.
WCCO-TV reported that police said one car had pulled alongside the other and that someone inside one of the cars had opened fire, but a police statement Saturday night did not confirm that.
Police released no information about the victims or suspects Saturday and were still trying to establish that the two calls were related.
